Old Hickory Boulevard Sidewalk

About This Project

This sidewalk improvement project included work on both private residential property and public roadways in Nashville’s Edwin Warner Park area. It consisted of 2,330 CY of road and drainage excavation, as well as the installation of 900 LF of 18” and 30” RCP, 2,375 CY of topsoil, twelve (12) storm drain structures, and approximately 8,300 SF of value engineered retaining wall. The scope also included the construction of 21,770 SF of sidewalk and 560 SF of concrete driveway, as well as the installation of 990 SF of curb ramp, approximately 2,300 LF of curb and gutter, 2,100 LF of portable barrier rail, and 2,600 SY of sod. Sign relocation, new pedestrian signal poles, and traffic signal installation was also included.

As a part of Walker Building Group’s value engineering efforts, we partnered with a specialty retaining wall subcontractor to transform a standard concrete retaining wall into a TDOT-approved stacked stone gravity wall. This change improved aesthetics and provided significant cost savings to Metro Nashville Public Works.
